Mercury Retrograde Libra Sept. 2015 Podcast

I get as frustrated as anyone during Mercury retrogrades. But I have also learned to love these periods, because Mercury Rx tends to be when I make the biggest changes in my thinking, changes that lead me to more freedom, more money, more joy, and more of what I want out of life. Think of this podcast as a guided tour to the secret places Mercury’s publicist doesn’t want you to know about. And yes, the guided tours I’ve enjoyed most were the ones where the tour guide was obviously just a bit cracked… Continue reading

Aries Lunar Eclipse Astrology – Chaos as Creative Fuel

The Astrology of Chaos

Moon in Aries Gives a Preview of the September 27, 2015 Aries Lunar Eclipse

Did you feel that? The Moon entered Aries Monday morning, Aug. 31, around 4:30 am EDT and made an exact conjunction at noon on Monday to the degree of the September 27 Aries lunar eclipse. The Sabian symbol for the eclipse degree of 5 Aries talks about the capacity we all have to take our lives to a new level when we open to the power of spiritual inspiration.  Continue reading

Pisces Full Moon August 29, 2015

Jupiter in Virgo Vs. Neptune In Pisces

Pisces Full Moon August 29 2015 - a beam of light in the fog.

A beam of light in the fog – Sabian symbol for 7 Pisces.

Today’s Pisces Full Moon ( 6 Pi 06′, 2:35 pm EDT) paints a fascinating picture of possibility, with both of Pisces’ ruling planets strongly involved in the chart. The Sun in Virgo is conjunct Pisces’ traditional ruler Jupiter and the Full Moon conjuncts Pisces’ modern ruling planet Neptune. Both conjunctions are within about degrees of orb, meaning the alignments are quite powerful.

So what does this mean?  Continue reading

Modeling the Aquarian Age

Takeaways from Five Days on the Farm

“The world wants what you have to give.”

That’s my major takeaway from five days of doing readings and meeting the community that has gathered around Chenoa Manor, a non-profit sanctuary for rescue animals nestled in the rolling hills of southeastern Pennsylvania, not far from Philadelphia.

The front gate at Chenoa Manor.

I was invited to Chenoa by its founder, Roberto Teti, to meet the Chenoa extended family, do astrology readings, and give a talk on my vision of 2015 as the opening of the Aquarian Age.

“Dr. Rob” is a sort of modern-day Dr. Dolittle. He maintains a veterinary practice, but his work with animals goes far beyond the realm of what we think of when we hear the word “veterinarian”.  Continue reading

Uranus in Aries: High Anxiety and Weird Physical Symptoms

In the build-up to last week’s Capricorn Full Moon, I experienced this feeling of (what I thought of at the time as) anxiety in my chest. A couple of times, I actually said out loud in my mind, “I wonder if I’m having a heart attack?” I’ve gone through periods of high anxiety in the past, but the weird thing about the feelings last week was that I couldn’t really pin them to anything.

Usually when I had anxiety or panic attacks in the past, it was easy to see the mental or emotional stress that was producing the physical unease. Which begs the question of cause and effect, but let’s leave that aside for now.

The anxiety last week was a mystery. Then, on the Full Moon call we do in our tribe, one of the Ravens mentioned that she was driving back from the cardiologist because she had been convinced she was having a heart attack. “OK, so it’s not just me,” I thought.  Continue reading

Video: The Astrology of 2015 & Beyond

My talk in Stowe, Vermont started a half hour after Mercury’s exact direct station on June 11. I was curious about what I would say. Not only because I seemed to have ‘verbal dyslexia’ during the Mercury Rx, but also because the planets insisted beforehand that I follow the advice of the great Hawaiian healer Dr. Hew Len in preparing for the talk.

When asked by Joe Vitale (his co-author of the book Zero Limits) how to plan a dinner talk they were giving together, Dr. Hew Len replied, “Don’t plan.” Continue reading

Nessus: The Ultimate Anti-Hero

Lust for Life

Nessus has been transiting my Pisces Sun over the last couple months (and will be back again in the fall of 2015). Nessus is one of the Centaurs, a group of recently discovered planetoids with very irregular orbits that extend from as far in as Jupiter to as far out as Pluto. Nessus’ orbit connects the orbits of Saturn (authority, fear, responsibility) and Pluto (repressed energies, obsessive fears and desires, regeneration).

Astrologically, all of the Centaurs activate and illuminate the psychological Shadow, bringing repressed feelings and drives to the forefront of consciousness so they can be assimilated and integrated. Centaur transits can be quite painful precisely because they force us to pay attention to the energies within the soul that we don’t want to have to see or feel.
