Right as Mercury was about to station retrograde in December I promised my supporters on Patreon I would put together a playlist of the songs I had completed in 2016. This week I finally got to the project, and I have to tell you – I’m really proud of myself. I still like the songs – which is always cool – but I think I’m proudest of the fact I kept doing the work. During a year when it would have been easy to kick my inner artist out of the studio and tell him to come back later when circumstances weren’t so challenging, I didn’t do that. I honored the Muse with my perseverance and attention. And she gave gave me these lovely melodies (and a few words) to share with you.

I know a lot of you feel the same way I do about 2016.

For those of you still stumbling around in a daze, feeling relieved but also battered and slightly confused, 2017 is going to be a different animal. Last year was a ‘9’ year in the numerology cycle. Those tend to be difficult because we’re trying to bring closure to whatever we started nine years before. 2017 is a ‘1’ year – there’s a lot more freedom and spontaneity on tap. My friend Ra Ma Kaur says that in kundalini yoga terms  we are transitioning from an inner-focused year to a year of magnetic radiance.
